SPRED or Special Religious Development has been a part of Queen of Angels Parish on the north side of Chicago for over 35 years. This would not be possible without the trust, blessing and support of wonderful priests, such as Msgr. Jim Kaczorowski, committed to offering faith formation to all throughout these years. We have also been blest with the support of parishioners who believe that liturgical experiences are enriched by the inclusion and participation of all.
Currently, three faith communities meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening offer the opportunity to grow in faith through friendship in a very welcoming, peaceful environment in the second floor of the parish center. Adults, 22 and over, are welcomed on Tuesday and Thursdays. Young adults ages 17 to 21 are welcomed on Wednesday evenings.
Our mission is to offer SPRED to those who seek placement. Can you help us?
If you know of someone with developmental disabilities who might benefit from belonging to a SPRED program, please contact us. Our goal is to welcome young adults and adults in one of our three SPRED communities. For anyone 16 and under, we seek placement for them in the nearest age appropriate parish SPRED program.
If you are interested in participating as a volunteer in one of our communities, please contact Julia Hess at 773-539-3634 or email at Julia Hess. All that is required is an openness to share your life and friendship with others. In keeping with the requirements of the Archdiocese of Chicago, all catechists are required to have a background check and complete Virtus Training for Protecting God's Children.

We hope you enjoy your visit.
