My Name is Julia Hess. I am a SPRED Coordinator, employed by the SPRED Agency. My involvement in the SPRED program began in 1973. My main function is as a field worker for the SPRED Agency developing new parish SPRED programs as well as mentoring existing SPRED faith communities in the north side of Chicago, north and northwest Cook County, Lake County and in the Milwaukee and Rockford dioceses.
The SPRED Resource Satellite office is housed at Queen of Angels where I have been a parishioner for 50 years. I oversee training and enrichment gatherings for volunteer catechists and the Observation Site at Queen of Apostles. In January of each year, I facilitate the Reflection Weekend for catechists in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
